I know I haven't posted for ages, this is because I still don't have internet at home... UNTIL NOW. *parties* I HAS INTERNET AT HOME THAT IS FAST AND STUFF OMG WOOP YAY etc.

Just a quick post though because I have a 10 am lecture tomorrow and I'm cream crackered! A couple of things my loves...

1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY electrictoes! (I realise this is over an hour late, but I have already text her and I went to her fammo birthday meal last sat and am going to her party this sat, so I am good friend, no?) I LOVE YOU PAULA :D

2. RIP Stephen Gatley. OMG this is so sad, I cannot believe he died, at only 33. For those of you that don't know, Stephen Gatley was an Irish singer and one fifth of boyband Boyzone (Who were huge in the UK in the 90's and reformed a year or so ago) and died the other morning when he didn't wake up from his sleep on holiday with his partner. It's a sad story as he was a great talent, and always seemed such a lovely guy, so I'm sure he will be missed. I saw him in 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat' in 2002, and can't believe that that beautiful young man, who helped my love of musical theatre (Jospeh was the second musical I ever saw) is now dead. I hope he is at peace. My condolences go out to his family and friends, especially his civil partner Andrew Cowles and the other four members of Boyzone, who must be devastated. Rest in Peace.

3. Last and not least, how are you guys?? Seriously, PLEASE leave me comments or links to your reccent blog posts, because I feel I have been a bad friend, and you know that I love you really!!!! <3

I KNOW I HAVEN'T POSTED FOR AGES...

This is because I moved to my uni (Portsmouth) on Saturday, and I don't have internet in my house yet. I only just got my UoP student card today so I've only been able to get into the computer suite/library today! Forgive? Hopefully I'll have internet in my house by Monday! Yay!

Anyway I just wanted to let you all know I'm alive, and loving uni, even if it is weird, strange and slightly stressful at times!! :)

Oh and I have been keeping up witht he happiness meme, writing it down, but I've got to go in a bit so I won't type it up yet!

ALL MY FRIENDS HAVE GONE AND LEFT ME AND... GUH. :'( I really didn't think I'd be this upset, but I just think about all the good times I've had with them, and now we're all at different Unis... and it's all a bit sad really. Uni is a weird time because, well it's change I suppose. It will be exciting, but fuck, I'm nervous. </3

You know when you go to do something, and then forget what it is you were going to do? Yeah I've just done that.

Sitting here happily watching Jonathan Creek in GOLD (Don't ask, I love Alan Davies and murder mysteries so much I will stay up this late) and then think I want to do something which involves my laptop- which I had turned off about an hour previously. I turn my laptop on, and 2 minutes later I'm looking at my screensaver (Merlin Series 2 Promos) thinking "What did I turn this on for?"

20 minutes later I'm still sitting here thinking "URGH. OMG. Why did I turn this on?"

Just had to rant about this, because it's annoying me.

A few things for you today...

Heylo!

Just had to post my immediate opinion of part one of the new ITV adaption of Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights', for two reasons. 1. Because I am an English student. And I studied Wuthering Heights a year ago and got full marks for the paper. 2. BURN IS IN IT XD (And I love Burn. Who doesn't?)

Anyways...am I impressed, you probably want to know? No, not really. For a starters they got rid of the main narrator, Mr Lockwood, who I believe is an essential character for any adaption, as he is the viewers way into the world of the Earnshaws, Heathcliffs and Lintons. They cut out a considerable amount of classic dialogue, no I'm not saying they should have read the book word for word but, some of the best known and well loved quotes were not included. But the main thing that really irked me was the fact that Cathy and Heathcliff kept KISSING. KISSING. gah! *flails in despair*. The whole point of Cathy and Heathcliff's love is that it is completely beyond any physical boundaries, it is other wordly, it is Romantic not romantic! They don't SNOG, they don't have SEX and they definately don't hold hands and FROLIC in the moors. (Instead they sit and brood, and wind up the Lintons...) Their love is supernatural, and un-defineable, it is not lust!!! *and my inner literary geek dies*

However, in case you think I'm a tad snobbish (oh shush! any good English teacher or student will tell you the same things as me...) there were things I did like about it. For one, coming from a drama students point of view, the acting was brilliant. When I saw the trailers, I didn't think much of Charlotte Riley as Cathy (but obviously no one can be as bad as Juliet Binnoche from 1992....*shivers*) but actually she grew on me and I'm thorughly impressed. Most of the cast were seasoned, and well-known TV actors (even Tom Payne who played Linton Heathcliff has popped up in Skins and the like) but I had never seen her before, and she impressed me. Burn Gorman as Hindley Earnshaw was obviously brilliant. (Biased? Moi?!) Although the clothes and posh accent made me giggle a few times! He's actually such a great versatile actor and I'm so happy to see him doing well after Torchwood and Bleak House.

Oh, and I'm going to be stoned for this but I hated Tom Hardy's Heathcliff. He was not dark, broody, mysterious, boisterous, cynical, charming or strong enough as I have always percieved Heathcliff to be. Or maybe it was the fact he kept kissing Cathy. And he spoke an awful lot didn't he?

Anyway, part two tomorrow.... I will enjoy the Isabella/Heathcliff but apart from that I will despise over anythign second generation (because I hate it by proxy....long story...) And so if I post about it tomorrow it'll most likely be "Heathcliff get over yourself." "Catherine Linton you annoy me." "Edgar Linton and Linton Heathcliff don't be so fucking weedy." And... " BRING BACK CATHY!"

(Oh and quickly I see Eve Myles new thing starts tomorrow, and it looks quite interesting.... although in the trailer she is kissing another man...RHYS IS NOT PLEASED.)

P.S- Good Luck to Van Hansis (Luek Snyder on ATWT) tonight in the Daytime Emmy's where he is nominated for Best Supporting Actor (after being nominated as 'Best Young Actor' for the past 2 years and not winning). Although he's on a frankly CRAPPY soap, that's a sinking ship, with a dubious current storyline, there's no denying he's a great actor who really, really deserves to win. HOPE AND PRAY guys! :D
